The eleven ways to fight it out

Same crew, same subject · eleven different arguments

Every mode takes the same raw material — a crew, a subject, and a list to rank — and picks a different fight. Some are quiet and secret; some are loud and public; one is just people yelling across a table. Pick by the argument you want, not the number.

No.01 The Captain's Table One list, argued aloud The purest form: one shared list, argued out loud, while the captain sets the order and makes the call. No.02 Ballot Box Secret ranks, read aloud Everyone ranks in secret. Ballots are read into the log one at a time, then the crew consensus is revealed — with the Most Divisive pick and any Hot Takes. No.03 Buried Treasure 100 doubloons, spent Each hand buries 100 doubloons across the items they love. The gold decides the list, and the results show exactly who backed what. No.04 Face-Off Bracket, bout by bout Items are seeded into a tournament bracket. Every bout is a crew vote; dead ties go to a coin flip. A 16-item bracket is a whole evening. No.05 Divvy the Loot Snake draft, then order Snake draft: hands claim the items that deserve a spot — auto-pick punishes the indecisive. Then the crew orders the haul together. No.06 Devil's Advocate Pitch a random item Every hand is dealt a random item and gets 45 seconds to pitch it, love it or not. Then everyone secretly ranks the pitches. No.07 Walk the Plank Vote items overboard The full pool starts aboard. Each round the crew sends one item over the side; the final list is the elimination order reversed. No.08 Load the Cannons Lock each slot, no take-backs Items come up one at a time in random order, and the crew locks each into a slot immediately — no rearranging, no take-backs. No.09 Read the Crew Predict the crew, not yourself Nobody ranks their own taste: everyone predicts what the crew will say, and hands are scored on how well they read the deck. No.10 Parley Merge lists until one accord Everyone files an opening position, then pairs merge their lists, then pairs of pairs — until the whole crew signs a single accord. No.11 Arrrgue! Classic Defend an item, head-to-head The main event (3+ hands). Defenders are dealt an item to champion and make their case aloud while everyone else votes head-to-head.
