What is Arrrgue?
Arrrgue is a free party game you play in a browser — no app to install, no account to
make. One person hosts from whatever screen is handy and gets a 4-letter crew code.
Everyone else joins from their own phones by typing that code. Then the whole crew argues
its way to a definitive Top 3, 5, or 10 of anything: best Disney villain, best
sandwich, best Beatle, worst gas-station snack, your friends ranked by driving ability.
There are deliberately no winners and no scores that matter — the product
is the argument, and the crew immediately wants to run it back.
How it works
- Take the wheel. One person hosts and reads out the 4-letter crew
code. A TV or laptop can also join in crow’s-nest mode to show the room on a big screen.
- The crew climbs aboard. Everyone joins from their phone with the code
and a name — the phone is the controller, the room is the game.
- Pick a fight and settle it. Choose a subject and one of eleven game
modes, then debate, vote, draft, or negotiate your way to the one true list.
The full walkthrough lives in how to play.
Eleven ways to fight it out
Same crew, same subject, eleven completely different arguments. Pick by the fight you
want — the modes page has a page on each.
No.01 The Captain’s Table — one shared list, argued out loud, while the captain sets the order and makes the call.
Details
No.02 Ballot Box — everyone ranks in secret, ballots are read into the log one at a time, then the crew consensus and the Most Divisive pick are revealed.
Details
No.03 Buried Treasure — each hand buries 100 doubloons across the items they love; the gold decides the list and the results show who backed what.
Details
No.04 Face-Off — items are seeded into a tournament bracket; every bout is a crew vote and dead ties go to a coin flip.
Details
No.05 Divvy the Loot — a snake draft where hands claim the items that deserve a spot, then the crew orders the haul together.
Details
No.06 Devil’s Advocate — every hand is dealt a random item and gets 45 seconds to pitch it, love it or not, then everyone secretly ranks the pitches.
Details
No.07 Walk the Plank — the full pool starts aboard and the crew votes one item overboard each round; the final list is the elimination order reversed.
Details
No.08 Load the Cannons — items come up one at a time and the crew locks each into a slot immediately, with no rearranging and no take-backs.
Details
No.09 Read the Crew — nobody ranks their own taste; everyone predicts what the crew will say, and hands are scored on how well they read the deck.
Details
No.10 Parley — everyone files an opening position, then pairs merge their lists, then pairs of pairs, until the whole crew signs a single accord.
Details
No.11 Arrrgue! Classic — the main event: defenders are dealt an item to champion and make their case aloud while everyone else votes head-to-head.

Who it’s for
Anyone with a few friends and an opinion. Arrrgue was built for parties, family
gatherings, office hangs, and game nights — a group of 3 to 20 in one room, or on a call
with a shared screen. Players range from party-game veterans to grandparents; nobody has to
read instructions. Sessions run from a 10-minute icebreaker to an all-evening argument about
Disney movies. Need subject ideas? Steal one of
247 things to argue about, or read
